- Denbun POP version - Limitations
-
- If MeCab (Morphological Analysis Engine) is installed, Denbun POP Version cannnot be installed.
Uninstall MeCab before install the Denbun POP Version.
- javascript need to be enabled on your browser.
- It does not support any Emoticon on mobile devices (You have a trouble of Mojibake:garbage characters)
- You cannot search messages in more then one e-mail account at once.
If you have plural e-mail accounts, you cannot select more than one account for search function.
- The search function may not find a message whose size exceeds 10,000 characters.
The search function checks first 10,000 characters.
(The characters after 10,000 characters are ignored and not searched)
- The full text search specification
When the data in "Message" and "To/Cc" is searched, it searches word by word not by inside matching. When the data in "From" and "Subject", it uses inside matching.
* With the version for PostgreSQL8.3, it uses inside matching for "To/Cc".
The text search only works when you specify English or Japanese search words (It means that you cannot search any words in Chinese or Korean).
* In English Windows, you cannot search for any Japanese words.
The followings are different in the version for PostgreSQL8.3 from the version for PostgreSQL8.2.
* If an e-mail address is written in a message body, the search does not match part word of the e-mail address.
e.g.) If "yamada@your.domain" is written in a message body,
the search does not match "yamada", "your", and "domain" as a keyword.
the search matchs "yamada@your.domain" as a keyword.
* If a URL is written in a message body, the search matchs only if you give the host name. The search does not match Any scheme or path.
e.g.) "http://www.denbun.com/ja/index.html" is wiritten in a message body,
the search does not match "http", "ja", and "index.html" as a keyword.
the search matchs "www.denbun.com" as a keyword.
- The way of displaying the number of messages for a folder who has more than 10,000 messages.
In the message list, if the number of messages is more than 10,000 in a folder such as Inbox and Sent, the number of messages is displayed like;
e.g. If you have more than 9,999 messages in the Inbox.
Messages:9999
e.g. If you have more than 10,000 messages in the Inbox.
10000 items or more available
Even if more than 10,000 messages available, you can open any message.
If you want to know the exact number of messages available, please create folders to separate them.
- You can add addresses up to 256.
It is possible to specify addresses for "To" "Cc" "Bcc" up to 256 respectively. - If you have several e-mail accounts, you cannot receive messages account by account.
When you click "Receive" button, it receives messages from all the account. You cannot choose individual account for receiving.
- Delay of automatic receiving
In automatic receiving, you can specify hour and minute. However if the system is too busy, the receiving process may delay.
- When unable to convert received message to UTF-8
Messages are converted into UTF-8 and saved in the database. If a message cannot be converted normally, the following may happen.
- In the message list, "Subject", "From", "Date" is displayed as blank.
- The message cannot be searched
_ You have a trouble of Mojibake:garbage characters when open the message.
- Disk space settings specification
There is the disk space settings function, however it does not limit the actual disk usage.
It limits total size of messages you send and receive.
* Disk space = the size of all messages you send, receive, save as draft
The messages are stored in the database. The other data for status and search function is stored too. Therefore, actual disk space usage is more than the size of all the messages.
- Limitation with Safari (Browser)
- Copy & Paste cannot be used to attach files.
- Even if you check "Mark a message as read when the last line is displayed" option in [Preferences]-[Mark messages as read], it doesn't work.
- On mail compose screen, "Cut", "Copy" and "Paste" buttons don't work.
- context menu may not work.
(If the mail windows is displayed behind the current window)
- In the message list, if you scroll often, then memory consumption is increased and the operation becomes slow. We are investigating now.
- Uploading files might be failed. (Only with Safari for Mac)
* The behavior in Keep Alive may make the problem. We are investigating now. If you feel it takes too long, please retry it.
- The input method cannot be switched to "Hiragana". (Only with Safari for Mac)
If you focus a password field, this problem occurs.
You can use a shortcut key or choose "Reconvert" from the menu to switch to "Hiragana".
The shortcut key switched to "Hiragana" is as follows.
For "Kotoeri": "control + shift + J"
For "ATOK": "control + shift + Z"
- When you show the context menu by using right mouse click, a focused item is not highlighted.
- Limitation with Firefox
- Copy & Paste cannot be used to attach files.
Even if you check "Mark a message as read when the last line is displayed" option in [Preferences]-[Mark messages as read], it doesn't work.
- On mail compose screen, "Cut", "Copy" and "Paste" buttons don't work.
- When you drag the message compose screen, the wireframe migh be shown at wrong position.
- If you use Firefox add-on, "Firebug" and "User Agent Switcher" at the same time,javascript error "userAgentButton is null" might occur.
